Lunch Box Wisdom 6 Feb 2017...
"If you can dream it, you can do it. Always remember that this whole thing started with a dream and a mouse."
I have always been humbled and inspired by the wonderful things Disney as a company has created. Even more so by the man who founded it all, Walter Elias Disney. He was a man who had flaws just like all of us.He had trials just like all of us. He also had a wonderful imagination... just like all of us.
You have in you the same potential as Mr. Disney. You can entertain and inspire millions. But just like Mr. Disney you must start with the first step. You must decide to move forward and start moving and then keep moving.
I often wondered if billions of kids and adults alike would have seen so many wonderful stories come to life in the same way if he had given up. Maybe we would have seen those stories in a different way. Maybe, but the cool thing is he pressed on. When there were problems with labor laws for animators he learned and pressed on. And that is just one small example of how he pressed on when the world tried to hold him back.
The movie Saving Mr. Banks is now one of my favorites along with many of the classics. In it we learn how he never gave up on the book his girls loved, and learned about and befriended the woman who wrote it so it could become Marry Poppins.
So I challenge you to look at your dreams and take that first step, then another, and then other. Stay the course... learn, grow, and follow your dreams. You can do it, I believe in you!
